Every business needs a direction and a set of rules for arriving at the destination. Without these your business is destined to failure. Imagine anything challenging you’ve ever accomplished – starting your business, losing 50 lbs., saving thousands… all of those things happened because your vision was big enough to carry you through the hardest, darkest days along the journey.
Your business has those dark days too and your vision will be the motivation, the guiding light, and the natural vacuum to the people, money, energy, and resources you will need to arrive.
In the best-selling book, 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, the author – Stephen R. Covey – coins habit number two as “begin with the end in mind”. Covey makes the point that “habit two is based on imagination–the ability to envision in your mind what you cannot at present see with your eyes. It is based on the principle that all things are created twice. There is a mental (first) creation, and a physical (second) creation. The physical creation follows the mental, just as a building follows a blueprint. If you don’t make a conscious effort to visualize who you are and what you want in life, then you empower other people and circumstances to shape you and your life by default.”

Now it is time to begin thinking about your business, your team, your customers, and where you are leading this ship’s course
